Solutions for first-time expats and international teams

Culture Workshops

Want to avoid unintentionally offending your new neighbors and colleagues?

When moving abroad for the first time, you don’t know what you don’t know.

Our Culture Workshop compares the cultural values, communication styles, management practices, business and societal norms of your home and host countries. It is designed to provide examples and practical tools you can use from Day 1.

Benefits

Discussing and analyzing cultural differences increases your level of self-awareness and allows you to work more effectively and feel at home abroad, faster.

In an informal, confidential, and encouraging environment, we simulate rewarding and challenging aspects of a cross-cultural assignment and working in an international team.

Not knowing the cultural preferences of your destination inevitably leads to embarrassing misunderstandings. Cultural offenses may not only jeopardize your personal adaptation, they also have negative consequences for doing business. Learning about cultural preferences before you go saves time on the ground and reduces the risk of unknowingly offending your new neighbors or colleagues, not being heard, and not being effective.

Delivery

Our Cultural Workshop covers exercises and information about how to

  • become aware of cultural preferences,
  • recognize cultural alternatives, and
  • effectively apply cultural differences.

This training is available in the D/FW area (travel charges to other locations apply).

Sign up for a Culture Workshop if you want to:

  • receive valuable insights into your own cultural programming,
  • learn how to reconcile your preferences with different approaches in the new environment,
  • develop a greater understanding of international assignment challenges,
  • maximize learning synergies by exchanging concerns in a confidential setting,
  • practice and expand your intercultural skills,
  • establish a network with other expatriate families, and
  • be confident about building the life you want to live in a new country.
